Number 24. This is a series I have been reading for many years and have been lagging in getting caught up in reading. There are 27 in the series right now. I have several series that are ongoing that I have committed to but have been slacking a lot: Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, Decker/Lazarus, etc.

The series is surrounded by a detective, Peter Decker, living in L.A. who meets and falls in love with Rina Lazarus. Peter converts to Judaism in the process of courting and marrying Rina. Peter has one daughter and Rina has two children from her previous marriage where she was widowed. Of course, each book is surrounded by homicide cases that Peter is charged in solving.

Number 24 is no different, except as the years progress, their lives change. So no longer are the Decker/Lazarus pair on the West Coast, but now on the East Coast in a small Connecticut town. In Bone Box, Rina happens about a body on a nature trail, but instead of an intact body, its bones. Decker and his newest partner, Tyler McAdams, who is on break from law school, start the investigation. Through a series of suspects and witnesses that they have to meet with and figure out the story, the whole story comes out of one man and four girls’ lives forever changed by two Professors and a student.

You should consider starting this series or following along with this series because it took me less than two weeks to read this, only because I’m a busy gal with a job, a child, and a husband to take care of, but otherwise, it would have been read sooner. Five stars for sure!!!

And yes, Faye Kellerman is related to Jonathan Kellerman if you were wondering. Writing is definitely a God-given talent in the Kellerman family. What are some of your favorite series? Do you like trilogies or ongoing series? Do you like living alongside the characters or just having a snapshot of their lives?
