Well, folks, I read number two of this series, and it did not disappoint. In fact, it made me love the series so much more and anxious to read #’s 3 and 4. The characters are so easy to love and empathize with and Harvey makes it an easy light read even with some of the heart-wrenching pieces.

We return to Peachtree Bluff with Ansley and now Sloane’s perceptions of the rest of the summer. If you remember, Ansley is mother to Caroline, Sloane, and Emerson. Sloane’s husband, Adam, is a career-solder in the army, and she finds out that while deployed he is missing in action. The family comes together to wrap their arms around her while going through this difficult situation. Meanwhile, Ansley and Jack are on the outs despite him moving in next door. On top of that, Ansley’s mother, Grammy, is struggling with stage 4 cancer that has moved to her brain and is terminal. It is a harrowing novel of truth, tragedy, and triumph. The family just wraps around one another to lift each other up and keep them accountable despite some of the secrets each one of them keeps. The biggest of course is the identity of Caroline and Sloane’s fathers…even though he is only a stone’s throw away.

I hope I kept you wanting more as much as I want more after reading this second book of the series. Again, the Peachtree Bluff series is not one to miss out on. If you enjoy beach reads that not only have romance, but some drama and full of life lessons, this series is one for you! What do you like best about a series? If you’ve been following, you know I’m a sucker for a good series, are you? If you haven’t been following, go back and read some of my posts about series I read/follow or just in general the debate of series versus stand-alone books.
