Trying to get caught up on a series when there are so many reading options can be laborious, but then you get into the story and get sucked in. Well, that’s what happened here. I’ve slacked for several years on getting caught up on the Decker/Lazarus series and recently been able to get caught up.

Decker again is investigating one case when he gets sucked into another. There is a missing person who went missing in his jurisdiction. While looking for Bertrand Lanz, they find a very decomposed body in the woods. They find out it is connected to three college guys who went missing ten years ago. Decker and McAdams have to explore both cases simultaneously and it proves to be dead end after dead end, until they find blood, then another body, and some international connections. Meanwhile, their foster son, Gabe, returns and elicits the help of Rina with a situation with his mother and her children from another marriage. Peter discusses with Rina how he’s slowing down and considering real retirement soon and would like to have a vacation home in Israel. Rina and Peter vacation to find their home away from home when another body is discovered and Peter can’t keep himself away.

Another 5-star review from me. I love this series so much. Not only do I learn a new culture and the Jewish tradition, but the stories keep you guessing. Kellerman doesn’t ever disappoint in her series. If you haven’t checked this series out, you need to….right away. What captivates you in a story? What keeps you guessing? What do you need from a series to keep you coming back for more?
