by Kristin Hannah

What a great book this was! I love Kristin Hannah’s style anyway, but it has been awhile since I’ve read one of hers. She just has a poignant way about her writing that makes you feel right at home with the characters.
In Magic Hour, we meet Julia, a child psychiatrist under fire for her possible negligence in a case. She is relieved of the problems, but that doesn’t change the distrust that her clients feel in her. Ellie, her sister and town police chief, calls her to assist on a complicated case.
When Julia returns home, she discovers that there is a “feral” child that has been found in the town and she doesn’t speak and is very scared. Julia commits herself to helping the girl, but doesn’t expect to fall in love with her. This a story of family, love, heartbreak, and healing.
If you are a Kristin Hannah fan, you know that this is a good choice. If you have never read one and this is your first exposure, you will not be disappointed.
Do you like feeling like you’re a part of the story or do you prefer to be in the audience only looking in? I love being captivated so deeply that I feel that I’m right there.
