Rock Bottom (Sisterhood #35)

by Fern Michaels

I’m always hesitant reading a random book in a well-known or developed series, but I thought, here goes nothing! This one publishes on December 26th, so if you want to get a New Year’s present for someone, this may be your choice!

We meet Zoe and Izzie, best friends, and they are struggling with some of Zoe’s work issues. Zoe suspects illegal activity at the company she works for, and seeks the assistance or support from Izzie, but Izzie has other plans. She introduces Zoe to the “Sisterhood,” a group of women who have come together through unfortunate circumstances and helped one another and solved the problems. Through the help of all the sisters and some other contacts they all know and trust, they are able to take down the two executives who are stealing and making buildings unsafe. Zoe finds love and gets married, and they all keep moving on to the next adventure.

It was an easy and short read. It reminded me of the The Hot Flash Club by Nancy Thayer, so that wasn’t a new concept for me. It was difficult to not know all the characters and be met with them all at once. There were a lot of people to keep track of which was difficult for me. I’d say this one was a 4-star only because I felt a little left out of the hype and also felt there was some plot lacking. The plot that was in the book was too fast-paced for me. Overall good read though. I’d definitely try another Fern Michaels, and maybe even start the beginning of the series!
