Let’s Talk About…Authors I would invite to Christmas Dinner

Okay, so assuming that there is no drama at Christmas, I’d probably have a round table like King Arthur filled with special authors.

Here we go: my first choice would be James Patterson because I want the scoop on all his series and how he does it. I think he’d be a good addition to the talks and have a variety of topics to discuss. Plus, I think he has some New England ties so we’d connect there.

Then, I’d have Patricia Cornwell. Being that we’re in Virginia now and she lives primarily in Richmond, what kind of southern hosts would we be to not host the local author? And she’s a fantastic author with some of Scarpetta’s best recipes so she’d bring along at least one mouth-watering dish!

Jodi Picoult would be my third pick. She’s a great storyteller, I mean one of her greatest books is called “The Storyteller.” She is from New England and we would have a lot in common to discuss. She also is infamous for her research, so I’d pick her brain about her process and some of the coolest topics she’s researched.

To add a little spice to the mix, E. L. James would be number four. She’s the author of the Fifty Shades series. I would love to pick her brain about how she got there and developed the concept of the trilogy.

Tessa Bailey would be my next pick because she’s my newest liked author so I’d want to know more about her, living in Long Island and what that’s like and how she got into writing.

For my last pick, because my table would only hold six, would be Freida McFadden because she blows my mind every time I read one of her books. I would love to know what she’s like in person and see if she blows my mind just the same!

Who would you invite? How many does your dinner seat? What would you ask? What would you serve?
