What can I say? This series has sucked me in from the beginning, and continues to keep me sucked in. If you know anything about the Fifty Shades series, then you may already know that E.L. James created a whole separate trilogy set as told by Christian Grey. It is one of the best retellings that I’ve ever read.

Darker is the second book in the series, as told by Christian Grey, and it does not disappoint. You get a cleaner version of what Christian is thinking and what motivates his actions. You begin to understand Christian much better. This book and this whole set help to understand Christian as a character and why he does what he does in the relationship with Anastasia.

If you’re a sucker for character development and romance (a bit smutty romance at that), this series and this book is for you! I give it five stars. I find the Christian versions to be a little cleaner (not that I can’t handle the smut, but for some its a turn off), and more palatable. These tend to be more romantic in my eyes. I would even dare, try this set before you dive into Fifty Shades to get oriented to the nature of the relationships.

I definitely will recommend this series both Fifty Shades and the As told by Christian Grey to all who will listen. Its a beautiful series. Very similar to the Sylvia Day Crossfire series Katera and I reviewed last year!
