I’ve never read any books by Linda Castillo before. We were at the local library while Ronnie was at an HOA meeting and Jackson and I were hanging out. He picked out some books for himself and I told him he could pick a book out for me. This is what he chose and he did a good job; I might have to have him pick more often!!

Kate Burkholder is the Chief of Police in a small Amish town in Ohio. There is a ritualistic burning at the stake death of a former Amish man. Chief Burkholder has to solve the crime but not before she is removed due to suspicions she’s helping her brother.

Through lots of trials and turns, Burkholder figured it out despite being put on the desk through the remainder of the investigation.

This book reminded me of an Alex Cross book a bit but from a female detective’s perspective. This is a series and this was the 16th in the series. I would definitely read others and would recommend it!
