What a cute story and concept. This was an advent story, so starting December 1st, you read a chapter a day! It was hard sometimes to stick to just one chapter a day. It was a cute story with winter themes as well as Christmas and of course romance.

While this may ge categorized as YA, it was not as angsty as some YA novels can be. So if you’re worried about that, have no fear!

April is a young girl who has had a heart condition since a young age. She received a heart transplant not too long ago and is going to spend Christmas break with her father. She has been very anxious since her operation and hasn’t been living life to the fullest until this trip when she meets some old friends and rekindles relationships. After pushing herself to the brink, this story is one of strength, courage and bravery to find yourself and advocate for what April wants as a person. The message clearly that a person should advocate for themselves and live life to the fullest.

While it’s Christmas Eve today, you need to check this one out next year and I’m hoping that more authors try this out so that I can read another book like this!
