This was a great book and it kept me guessing. I read it as part of an online book club and only read a few chapters a day. It was so hard not to go forward before I was supposed to just to know what happened next!

Violet witnesses a tragedy in her home as a young child and serves to protect her younger sister Rose and her mother. Rose and Violet are in a car accident and Violet believes she’s seen the perpetrator from many years ago.

She decides to calculate a way to get even from all those years ago. As a reader, you follow Violet’s twisted psychological struggles with the childhood trauma and how it has skewed her reality as an adult. The culmination of the story is fantastic and Campbell executes the plot so well. I look forward to reading another by this author.

I also highly recommend reading books with others and reading it a little each day was so good for my mental health. Go get this to read now or for next Christmas season!!
