by Nora Roberts

If you haven’t had a chance to read any of Nora Roberts’ books, you should. I say that because this read was not one of her bests, but she is a notable author in her genre and I have read rather good novels by her.
This book has two stories that sort of intertwine but only in the slightest way. The first is Loving Jack and describes Jack and Nathan’s disdain for one another that turns romantic. Jack is given the opportunity to stay at this beautiful house that turns out to be Nathan’s and he is unaware of the agreement. She is immediately head over heels for him, but he is not so impressed…at first. It was a cute story but had a little too much angst and took too long for the love story to come about.
The second story, Best Laid Plans, is about Cody and Abra. They are on a project together. Cody, the architect, and Abra the engineer. An unlikely pair, but they fall for each other through the process of working together. Again, this one had a little too much angst than romance for me and that was a struggle to read. I’ve had some personal stuff going on that might have hindered my commitment to the book, but it was a tough one for me.
I gave this one four stars; originally I was stuck to three stars, but the second story was a little less angsty and more romantic and had my attention a little better. Give it a whirl and tell me about it.
Do you prefer a romance novel that is angsty or pure romance? Raunchy or clean? Who is your favorite romance novelist?
