What a great book! I love reimagined stories like this and McIntire did not disappoint on this retelling of Peter Pan. If you like these kinds of retellings plus a little (or a lot of spice…fyi), this series will be for you! I cannot wait to dive into another at some point!

Wendy Michaels is the main character who has just moved to a small town in Massachusetts with her young brother, Jon. Their father is supposed to be there with them but he always seems too busy and out of town on business.

Wendy ventures out with some friends to the bar, the Jolly Roger. There, she sets eyes on none other than the owner, James. James has similar feelings of unrelenting lust for her but he also knows who she is. They pursue each other both for different reasons, or are they?

There is lots of action, both violence and sexual going on in this novel. I think if you are vulnerable to not love lots of trigger warnings, this is not for you. But if it doesn’t bother you and you love a good retelling, then you should run to get a copy! Five stars from me!
