I read this one for book club and we met at Jardin in Richmond again which didn’t disappoint, neither the book nor the snack. This book is a great one! There is a #triggerwarning for suicide.

Phoebe is a depressed Lit professor who escapes to Newport RI and bumps into a wedding party. The hotel resort is overtaken by Lila and Gary’s whole wedding party and Phoebe decides this is when she’s going to die. Lila injects herself into Phoebe’s life and from there they begin an interesting relationship. Both women make discoveries about themselves that are priceless for their lives, one to be saved from death and the other to be saved by the wrong commitment. We travel through the whole week of wedding festivities to understand where each is coming from.
