If you’re looking for a fun summer read with some emotional parts to it, this is it. I read the sequel first and was in love. The first in the series did not disappoint but it did feel a little slower than I remember One Golden Summer being.

Percy receives a call no one expects: her childhood best friend’s mother has passed away. Percy makes her way back to Barry’s Bay to support Sam and his brother Charlie. Percy and Sam are best friends turned friends with benefits and to lovers until that last summer they were together. Percy and Sam go through the healing not only of the loss of Sam’s mother but through their own relationship ups and downs. It’s an up and down roller coaster but has a poignant ending keeping you wanting more.

Carley Fortune is a talented writer who keeps you guessing and wanting more. This one was a little slow at times but it still kept me wanting more. Four stars from me!
