Hollow Bones

By Jodi Picoult

Oh. My. Gosh. Jodi Picoult did not disappoint on this one. I heard about it late in the game but because she is one of my favorite authors and I’ve been following the Lindsay Clancy case from day one, I was quick to get this. And I got a signed copy!

Eloise is a woman who is married to Adam. They have a child, Molly, and reality becomes distressing for Eloise. September 11, 2001 is a turning point for the Ambrose family for so many reasons.

Fast forward 25 years and Molly is married to “My Sister’s Keeper” character Jesse. Molly is the head of emergency preparedness in Rhode Island. They get pregnant and Molly is nervous about leaving her responsibilities to care for a baby that was unexpected.

Then, there is Georgia. She works at Molly’s OB/GYN’s office.

You must read to really dive into the details and the unexpected. The poignant and the exciting. The tragic and the hopeful. I mostly always give Jodi a five star and this one is no different. Can we have a screen play for this one please??

Also, make sure you read the Author’s Note. If this review does anything, I want to continue the conversation about Maternal Mental
health, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. A great tribute to such a tragic time not only in America’s history but also for all the mothers who have struggled and not been heard!

If you or someone you know is silently suffering, please reach out to the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-TLC-MAMA. Their website is https://mchb.hrsa.gov/programs-impact/national-maternal-mental-health-hotline.
